FREE HIV/AIDS Testing

The Health Brigade (formerly Fan Free Clinic) will be in the Office of Common Ground on giving FREE, confidential HIV/AIDS tests. Come to the conference room, THC 329, get tested, and get entered to win a $50 gift card! The HIV/AIDS test is blood and needle-free--It’s just a mouth swab!

DOCUMENTARY SCREENING AND DISCUSSION OF OUT IN THE NIGHT (In collaboration with WILL*/WGSS)

Director Blair Dorosh-Walther and one of the “New Jersey 4,” Renata Hill
Out in the Night documents, the story of four black lesbian women charged and convicted of assaulting a man who attacked them on the street in New York City. The award-winning documentary examines the resulting court case and the role that race, gender identity, and sexuality play in the criminal justice system. Director Blair Dorosh-Walther, alongside Renata Hill, one of the convicted women, will introduce the film and facilitate a discussion after the screening.
A second film screening of Out in the Night will be held in the Richmond community in partnership with Sistah Sinema and Afrikana Independent Film Festival on Oct. 19 at The Bijou (304 E Broad St, Richmond, VA 23219)* at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. For this showing only, there is a $10 admission charge for the general public; students with an ID will be free of charge.

Spidernights is celebrating UR Comes Out month with our annual Big Queer Night! Decorate rainbow cupcakes and enjoy a variety of drag performances, and bring your singles to tip!! Your donations to the performers will benefit Side by Side (formerly ROSMY) a local LGBTQ youth organization.
