SpiderNights

Every weekend the Cultural Advisors sponsor a variety of fun, late night events on Saturdays. Activities range from carnival nights to coffeehouse open mic nights, game nights, campus-wide scavenger hunts, dodgeball tournaments and trivia nights. We also try to get off-campus once or twice a semester for laser tag, trampoline parks, and other area Richmond attractions. Events on campus are always free, open to all students, include free food, and sometimes prizes. The average attendance at a SpiderNight is over 80 people and can be as high as 200+.

August 27,  Carnival Night, International Center, 9 pm to midnight
Our annual favorite is back, bigger and better than ever. We'll have our photo booth for those classic group shots, airbrush tattoos, pie-eating contests, and a chance to see how long you can ride the Mechanical Spider. Cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones, too.

September 3, Grocery Bingo, The Pier, 9 pm to midnight
Play the world's favorite competition game for snacks and prizes for your dorm room. Need a giant bag of snickers, mac and cheese to last you a month, or a case of soda? We've got you covered, with some healthy options thrown in too. For every round you win, you can fill a bag with your favorite goodies and dorm necessities.

September 10, Coffeehouse Open Mic Night, Whitehurst Living Room, 9 pm - midnight
Bring your performing skills and we'll provide the audience and the coffee and donuts. Sign up if the spirit moves you and prepare to listen to your super talented peers. This one is always packed so come early for a good seat.

September 17, Murder Mystery Night, Westhampton Center Living Room, 9 pm - midnight
You will seriously need your thinking caps to figure out these clues to our mystery. Come solo or with a group and we'll get you in teams to compete for awesome prizes.

That's what we have planned so far. We do know there will be a Big Queer Night on Oct. 29 to help celebrate UR Comes Out Month, and a trip to an indoor rock-climbing facility on October 22. Check out our Facebook page for the latest and greatest updates on our schedule.

The CAs are always looking for help staffing the events. Join the Friends of CAs and help with just one or two events a semester, or as many as you want. Contact Hannah.Stein@richmond.edu for more information. It's absolutely as much fun as it looks and you get a cool T-shirt!
