LGBTQ Mentor Program

Applications are now open for the LGBTQ Mentor Program!  This program matches LGBTQ-identified students to LGBTQ-identified alumni to create unique mentor opportunities. The program lasts for one academic year and focuses on supporting LGBTQ students while they are at the University and also on how students can join the workforce as openly LGBTQ people. The program is a partnership between Common GroundLGBTQ Spiders Alumni Group, and Alumni& Career Services.

Alumni Mentor Expectations:

  • Be a member of LGBTQ Spiders Alumni Group
  • Complete the Mentor Application
  • Participate in full group introductory call
  • Connect with mentee once a month
  • Review monthly mentor newsletter
  • Participate in full group evaluation call
  • Complete online evaluation

Student Mentee Expectations:

  • Identify as LGBTQ+
  • Complete the Mentee Application
  • Participate in full group introductory call
  • Connect with mentor once a month
  • Meet with Career Services representative to complete resume
  • Check in each semester with Common Ground representatives
  • Participate in full group evaluation call
  • Complete online evaluation
